AUSTIN AND SAN ANTONIO — The QuikTrip Corp. will open more than 100 new gas and convenience store locations in the Austin and San Antonio areas beginning in the summer of 2018, according to a social media announcement from the company. Exact locations were not disclosed. The Tulsa-based chain, which first entered Texas in 1999, currently operates 134 locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

LAKEVILLE, MINN. — Launch Properties has broken ground on Launch Park Lakeville I, a 286,000-square-foot warehouse in Lakeville, a suburb of Minneapolis. The building is 53 percent pre-leased to an undisclosed tenant, while 136,000 square feet remains available for lease. Construction is slated for completion in November. Launch Park Lakeville I will feature 32-foot clear heights, 50-foot interior bays, 60-foot dock bays, 23 dock doors and two drive-in doors. This is the first building in the master-planned park located at County Road 70 and Cedar Avenue, which can support up to 1.5 million square feet of new development. Jack Matasosky of Lakeville-based APPRO Development is providing design-build services for the project. Doug Fulton and Patrick McCaffrey of Avison Young represented the tenant in the lease transaction. Brian Van Hoof and Jeff Przytarski of CBRE represented Launch Properties.
CARTERSVILLE, GA. — Lidl, a discount German grocery chain, has unveiled plans for a new $100 million regional headquarters and distribution center in Cartersville, roughly 40 miles north of Atlanta. The facility will create 250 jobs over the next five years. Lidl is focusing first on the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic in its U.S. expansion plans, with its first 20 stores set to open this summer in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. To date, Lidl operates more than 10,000 grocery stores in 28 countries.
NEW YORK CITY — Yuco Real Estate has completed Brook Avenue Apartments, a two-building multifamily development located at 463 and 469 E. 147th St. in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx. The $24.4 million, 78.806-square-foot property features 66 apartment units. The five-story building at 463 E. 147th St. features seven studio units, 35 one-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom unit. The other building features 10 two-bedroom units and a one-bedroom apartment. Bong Yu provided engineering and architectural services for the project, while Yuco Builders served as the general contractor. The Bank of New York Mellon, First Sterling Financial and the Community Preservation Corp. provided financing for the development.
U of U Health Signs Lease for Office Space at Sugar House Development in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah Health has signed a lease for one of the two office buildings at the new Sugar House development in Salt Lake City. The project is located at 2290 S. 1300 East. The university’s new Sugar House Clinic will focus on promoting community health, offering health services to patients, including primary and preventative care, oncology care and weight-loss services. Westport’s Sugar House development is set to include two office towers and a multifamily residential building. Demolition on the site is expected to begin in June, with the U of U Health building scheduled for completion in mid-2019.
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Woodfield Investments has opened The Passage, an apartment community located at 100 Underwood Drive in Summerville, roughly 20 miles northwest of Charleston. The 240-unit community includes studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom options, as well as amenities including a dog park, horseshoe pit, bocce ball, open-air cabanas and a saltwater pool featuring an in-pool sun shelf. The Passage’s fitness center includes yoga and spin studios, as well as instructor-led classes. CF Real Estate Services manages the community.
MCKINNEY, TEXAS — Playful Corp., a Texas-based gaming studio whose CEO previously headed the company that developed Words with Friends, will build a 53,000-square-foot, Class A office headquarters in downtown McKinney. Columbus Realty Partners will develop the property, which will be located adjacent to a mixed-use development currently under construction at the corner of Davis and Chestnut streets. Project plans also include construction of 125 parking spaces that will be available to the public on nights and weekends.
SARATOGA SPRING, N.Y. — Homewood Suites by Hilton has opened Homewood Suites by Hilton Saratoga Springs, located at 3368 S. Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Developed by Turf Pioneer Broadway, a joint venture between Turf Hotels Inc. and Pioneer Cos., the hotel features 113 suites in studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts with fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. On-site amenities include complimentary hot breakfast, WiFi, an indoor pool and hot tub, 480 square feet of flexible meeting space and an outdoor patio with fire pit and sports court.
NASHVILLE, TENN. — AEG plans to develop a mixed-use entertainment district at Southwest Value Partner’s (SWVP) Nashville Yards in downtown Nashville. The Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment venue owner/operator purchased a four-acre parcel of land that will be anchored by a 4,000-capacity music venue, a flagship Regal Cinemas theater complex, a 600- to 700- capacity live entertainment club, an approximately 240-room boutique hotel and other entertainment, food and beverage options. SWVP’s Nashville Yards is a multi-phase office, retail, hospitality, entertainment and residential project that will span the western edge of downtown and stretch from Broadway north past Church Street. The 15-acre site was previously home to the LifeWay Christian Resources campus. The first site in Nashville Yards, a 591-room Hyatt Regency hotel, is expected to open in 2020. The AEG-developed district will be located at 10th Avenue between Commerce and Church streets, with the option to acquire an additional 1.5-acre parcel for further development. The project further expands AEG’s portfolio of entertainment districts, which includes L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, The O2 in London and Mercedes-Benz Platz in Berlin.
INGLEWOOD, CALIF. — The Los Angeles Clippers and the City of Inglewood have entered into a three-year exclusive negotiating agreement (ENA) that will allow the basketball team to explore the option of building a new basketball arena within the city. The arena would also include training facilities and team offices. The Clippers will consider a 20-acre site situated south of Century Boulevard at Prairie Avenue, directly across the street from the future football stadium and entertainment district that the Kroenke Group is developing. The ENA establishes a three-year timeframe during which the Clippers will develop the details of its proposed basketball facility. The city will conduct an environmental review, including an evaluation of the proposed facility’s construction and operational impacts, after that time. The Clippers have been playing at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles since 1999. The team’s current lease will expire at the end of the 2023-2024 NBA season. Anschutz Entertainment Group owns Staples Center. The new arena would be privately funded and privately capitalized.
