GARLAND, TEXAS — Dallas-based developers Eric Langford and Brian Flaherty have appointed Arlington-based general contractor Bob Moore Construction to build Jupiter Miller Business Center, a two-building industrial distribution center located on Jupiter Road in the northeast Dallas suburb of Garland. The industrial development will cover 40 acres of the 70-acre property, which was previously occupied by defense contractor and weapons manufacturer Raytheon. Delivery of the center, which will span 800,000 square feet, is scheduled for 2018.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO — Sunsine Inc. has opened a new Home2 Suites by Hilton in Middleburg Heights near Cleveland. The hotel features 111 suites with fully equipped kitchens. Other features include a laundry and fitness area, daily breakfast, indoor pool and outdoor grill area. Located at 7355 Engle Road, the hotel offers convenient access to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Kaival Hospitality Management LLC manages the hotel owned by Sunsine.
CONROE, TEXAS — D’Agostino Cos. and Slate Real Estate Partners have released details for a mixed-use project spanning 65 acres in the Houston submarket of Conroe. Individual features of the property include 120,000 square feet of medical/office space, 25,000 square feet of retail space, a four-story, 132-room hotel and five restaurant pad sites. Plans also include 254,238 square feet of multifamily space spread across 250 units, and 120 units totaling 120,000 square feet of space reserved for residents who are 55 or older. Delivery of the site, which has yet to be branded, is scheduled for October 2018.
KATY, TEXAS — NewQuest Properties has begun on the first round of fast food restaurants at Grand Morton Town Center, an 89-acre retail center located at the corner of Grand Parkway and Morton Ranch Road in Katy on Houston’s eastern outskirts. Taco Bell will open a 29,815-square-foot location and McDonald’s will operate a 67,894-square foot site, with both slated to open in late summer. Whataburger and Chick-fil-A will follow at year’s end with 42,574-square-foot and 59,699-square-foot ground-leased sites, respectively.
BOSTON — Chevron Partners, a privately-held real estate firm, has acquired 260-262 Commonwealth Ave. in Boston from Commonwealth Realty Trust for $14 million. The 1880-built brownstone will be redeveloped into five apartments, which will be known as Maison Commonwealth. The property, currently a dorm for Bay State College students, includes on-site parking for each residence and is a joint venture between developers Fulton and Marcel Safar. Chevron Partners’ first residential property, Maison Vernon, is located at 41 Mount Vernon St. in Beacon Hill. The renovation is scheduled for completion in late spring 2019.
TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, N.Y. — Simone Development Co. has received approval from the Town of Huntington to redevelop two buildings located at 5 Cuba Hill Road for medical use. Defense contractor BAE Systems sold 18 acres of its property, located in the Greenlawn area of Huntington (on Long Island), to the Bronx-based developer late last year. At the time, Simone Development leased the four-building complex totaling 200,000 square feet back to BAE. A nine-acre portion with two existing buildings totaling 95,000 square feet will be redeveloped for medical use. Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island, which is part of the Mount Sinai Health System, will become the tenant. Mount Sinai will combine three of its current locations in Huntington into a practice at the new Greenlawn location. The new site will offer imaging services, primary care, pediatric and concierge medicine along with specialty services. In November 2015, KeyBank provided financing to Simone Development for the acquisition and redevelopment of the 5 Cuba Hill property.
Senior Lifestyle, Griffin Fine Living to Develop Seniors Housing Community Near Atlanta

SNELLVILLE, GA. — Senior Lifestyle Corp. and Griffin Fine Living LLC have unveiled plans for The Sheridan at Eastside, a 197-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community in the Atlanta suburb of Snellville. The community will feature 81 independent living apartments, 24 independent living cottages, 60 assisted living units and 32 memory care units. The 190,000-square-foot community will sit on 15 acres. The co-developers plan to start construction this fall, with a projected opening date in late 2018. Senior Lifestyle Corp. operates more than 180 communities across the country. Griffin Fine Living provides design, construction, development, marketing and operational management services for the seniors housing and multifamily sectors.
NEW YORK CITY — Eastern Consolidated’s retail leasing division has arranged a 10-year lease at 48 Macdougal St. in SoHo for Raku, a Japanese restaurant. It will be Raku’s second location in Manhattan. The restaurant will occupy a 1,200-square-foot space located between West Houston and Prince Streets. Eastern Consolidated’s Joe Robinson arranged the lease for Raku, and David Graff of Compass represented the landlord.
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. — Wolverine Building Group has partnered with Covenant House Michigan-Grand Rapids to build a homeless, runaway and at-risk youth home in downtown Grand Rapids. The 15,470-square-foot building will be located at 50 Antoine St. Southwest. The new youth home will be constructed adjacent to Covenant House Academy, a high school for at-risk students. The three-story building will include a multi-purpose room and office space on the first floor. The second and third floors will house residential space with 14 rooms on each floor. Each resident floor will include a small café and laundry facilities. Progressive AE provided design and engineering services.
LOS ANGELES — Sares Regis Group (SRG) has broken ground on nine industrial buildings in the Los Angeles submarket of Thousand Oaks. The buildings will contain a total of 507,878 square feet. The facilities are being built to LEED specifications on the remaining 29 acres in the Conejo Spectrum business park in Conejo Valley. They are scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter.
