ASHLAND, VA. — Devon USA plans to develop a 320,853-square-foot distribution center at 11600 N. Lakeride Parkway in Ashland, roughly 18 miles north of Richmond. Known as Building D, the spec project will be situated within Enterchange at Northlake Industrial Park. Set for completion in summer 2017, the property will feature 32-foot clear heights, an ESFR sprinkler system, cross-dock loading, dock-high doors and drive-in doors. The property’s sustainable features will include a white reflective roof, skylights, LED lighting and a R30 insulated roof. Richmond-based Devon USA has selected Evan Magrill and N. Dean Meyer of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer to handle Building D’s leasing responsibilities.

CANAAN, N.H. — Bedford, N.H.-based Eckman Construction Co. has completed renovations and a large addition at Mascoma Valley Regional High School in Canaan. The new addition features a 500-seat auditorium and performing arts theater, band room, media center and art room. Renovations to the original building, which was built in 1963, included a new handicap-accessible main entrance, classrooms, a new main office and administrative area, and energy-efficient upgrades throughout the facility. New Hampton, N.H.-based Marinace Architects provided architectural services for the project.

HEBRON, KY. — Dermody Properties has started construction on LogistiCenter at 275 #2, a 264,000-square-foot industrial facility located at 3521 Point Pleasant Road in Hebron, a suburb of Cincinnati in northern Kentucky. Situated near Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, the new e-commerce compliant facility will feature 32-foot clear heights, 27 dock doors, 228 parking spaces and 70 trailer stalls. Hillwood is Dermody’s financial partner on the project, and both companies leased the site for LogistiCenter at 275 #2 from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Last year, Dermody and Hillwood delivered the nearby LogistiCenter at 275, a nearly 900,000-square-foot fulfillment center for Wayfair Inc. United Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project, and Jeffrey Bender and David Kelly of Cushman & Wakefield will handle the leasing assignment.

YAPHANK, N.Y. — A joint venture between Chelsea Senior Living and AVR Realty plans to develop a $27 million, 118-bed assisted living facility in the Long Island town of Yaphank. The joint venture is seeking governmental approval from the Yaphank Town Planning Board and economic incentives from the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency to build the community. If approved and built, it will be located within The Boulevard, a 322-acre mixed-use development. Phase I of The Boulevard is already approved, and includes a 240-unit multifamily community. Plans call for two buildings totaling 99,492 square feet, including a 77-bed building for special needs and memory care, and a 41-bed supportive care building. The developers purchased the site from Rose-Breslin Associates LLC and aim to begin construction in 2017. Based in Farnwood, N.J., Chelsea Senior Living owns and operates 13 seniors housing communities in New York and New Jersey.

MADISON, WIS. — Ascendant Holdings and Central Properties are developing a lifestyle hotel at 118 and 122 State St. in downtown Madison. The companies have tapped Portland, Ore.-based Provenance Hotels to manage the property. Slated to open in 2018, the hotel will feature a ground-floor food and beverage operation, meeting spaces and a rooftop lounge.

SOUTHFIELD, MICH. — Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions is renovating Galleria Officentre, a multi-building office park in Southfield. Friedman began managing, leasing and implementing a renovation program at the 1 million-square-foot property, located at 100-400 Galleria, in February. Major interior improvements include a state-of-the-art conference center, video surveillance system, an automated door locking system and two new full-service cafeterias, as well as a renovation of the lobby. Exterior upgrades include modifications to the sidewalks, driveways, tree-lined common areas and courtyards and a redesigned exterior space with a park, including seating, music and gathering areas. The property offers space for lease ranging from 900 square feet to 100,000 square feet.

HONOLULU — The Honolulu City Council has approved Salem Partners’ plan to develop a 36-story mixed-use tower in Honolulu. The $700 million project will be situated across from the Convention Center. Named Mana`olana Place, this will be the first project in the city’s newly adopted Ala Moana transit-oriented district. The tower will feature 505,000 square feet that will house a 125-room ultra-luxury hotel, 109 condominiums, about 12,500 square feet of retail and dining, a large public plaza and gardens. Construction is expected to start in 2017 for completion in 2020. Mana`olana Place will create a pedestrian-friendly environment with street frontages leading to the public plaza at the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Atkinson Drive.

FRISCO, TEXAS — Embrey Partners has broken ground on Domain At The Gate, a 350-unit multifamily community located within the master-planned community of The Gate in Frisco. The community will offer one- and two-bedroom units. Shared amenities will include an 11,000-square-foot clubhouse; a two-level fitness center; a golf simulator; a dog spa; and a bike garage. The property is scheduled for completion in summer 2018. The Gate master-planned community is currently being developed by Invest Group Overseas, and will offer office, residential, hospitality and retail space.

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO. — QuikTrip has expanded its presence in Lee’s Summit with three city-approved Next-Gen convenience stores. Slated for completion in 2017, the new stores represent a more than $15 million investment in the area. The new stores, which each will employ 15 to 17 people, will be located at Mulberry and Missouri Route 291, Missouri Route 291 and Missouri Route 150, and 800 NE Woods Chapel Road. The store at Mulberry and Missouri Route 291 will be new construction, while the other stores will be redeveloped into the company’s Next-Gen store format. The company’s Generation 3 stores are about 5,700 square feet, 1,000 square feet larger than typical QuikTrip stores, and create a more upscale experience. The stores include indoor and outdoor dining areas with a touchscreen for customers to place orders with baristas for hot or cold drinks, smoothies and soft-serve ice cream. Additionally, Next Gen stores also serve alcoholic beverages and fresh food offerings.

ORLANDO, FLA. — Maitland, Fla.-based Equinox Development Properties Inc. is set to begin a $20 million redevelopment of Williamsburg Downs Shopping Center in Orlando. Renovations at Williamsburg Downs — purchased by Equinox in September — will include the enlargement of the anchor Publix location to 45,600 square feet, and upgrades to the center’s lighting, signage, parking lot and landscaping. Improvements are scheduled to begin in early 2017, with completion expected for later that year. Tenants at the center include GNC, Subway, Greenburg Dental and Metro PCS.
