SANTA FE, N.M. — Marriott International has opened the 157-room La Posada de Santa Fe in New Mexico, the first hotel within the company’s Tribute Portfolio of resorts and spas. The hotel is located at 330 E. Palace Ave. in Santa Fe. La Posada is situated on six acres, steps from the historic downtown plaza and Canyon Road. The hotel contains three food and beverage outlets, including Julia, a Spirited Restaurant & Bar, the Staab House and the Patio Restaurant. Signature features of the Tribute Portfolio include an homage to the area’s local history, which can be seen in the resort’s bright blue doors, the Patio’s twinkle lights, traditional Southwestern fireplaces, colorful gardens and tapestries. Marriot will open additional Tribute Portfolio hotels throughout the U.S., including Denver and San Diego.
IRVING, TEXAS — CMG Mortgage Inc. is increasing the size of its north Texas regional office, finalizing a 10,951-square-foot lease in an expansion and long-term extension for Class A office space in Irving. The California-based company has secured 3,350 square feet adjacent to its 7,601-square-foot office on the first floor of Freeport Corporate Center, a two-story suburban office building located at 8650 Freeport Parkway S. The extra space will be ready to occupy this week. Kevin Brookmole of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services represents the landlord, Slate Freeport Holdings LLC. Steve Herman of Herman Commercial Real Estate in Walnut Creek, Calif., represented CMG, which has a nationwide network of mortgage offices. Both leases are co-terminus.
EDGERTON, KAN. — Aerospace parts supplier Triumph Group has opened its new factory in Edgerton. The Berwyn, Pa.-based company began relocating its operations from Grandview, Mo., to the new facility in September and expects the move to be complete by June 2017. Located within Logistics Park Kansas City, the 156,000-square-foot manufacturing plant was built to accommodate the company’s growth and expanding technologies. The factory is the company’s new Small and Medium Parts Center of Excellence, which makes machining and assembly of aircraft components made from aluminum and various hard metal alloys. Products that will be made at the plant include landing gear structure and assemblies, seat/cargo tracks, floor beams, thrust reverser beams, stringer end fittings, wing attach fittings, installation brackets, hinge arm assemblies and engine inlet assemblies.
CHICAGO — M&J Wilkow has completed a $15 million renovation of a 27-story office building located at 203 N. LaSalle St. in Chicago. The LEED Platinum-certified 624,739-square-foot building has been renovated to create a new arrival experience for visitors and tenants. The lobby has been revamped to add natural light and relocate the reception desk in order to open the space. Additionally, the first-floor concourse level was modernized to create an open walkway and increase visibility for the retail tenants. Other renovations include the addition of a Wi-Fi-enabled technology lounge and conference center, including large-screen televisions and audio/visual equipment; and a state-of-the-art fitness center, in partnership with LifeStart Wellness Network, on the second floor. The fitness center is complimentary for tenants at 203 N. LaSalle after a $50 initiation fee, with additional a la carte service options and classes available. The property is currently 97 percent occupied, with STATS LLC as the newest tenant with 76,852 square feet.
DALLAS — Sperry Commercial Global Affiliates has announced a new franchise affiliate, Dallas-based Engvest Commercial Realty LLC. The first Dallas/Fort Worth affiliate to join Sperry Commercial, Engvest was founded by Daniel Eng to serve its clients as a full-service commercial real estate investment firm. Eng and his business partner Calvin Wong will provide leasing, acquisitions, disposition and property management services under the Sperry Commercial Global Affiliates brand. Engvest brings more than 1 million square feet of retail center listings to the platform.
COLORADO SPRINGS AND AURORA, COLO. — New Dawn Memory Care has reopened its two memory care communities in Colorado Springs and Aurora. Radiant Senior Living was named as the operator of both communities. The Portland, Ore.-based operator manages 18 seniors housing communities in Washington, Oregon, North Dakota and Colorado.
LOS ANGELES — SunCal is set to develop 6AM, a 14.5-acre mixed-use development located in the downtown Los Angeles Arts District. The project will feature public and private outdoor space; art creation space and exhibition space; creative offices; space allocated for use by a school; fitness centers; two 58-story residential towers offering live/work residences; outdoor pools and spas; hotel; grocer; food hall; retail space; and parking. Architectural firm Herzog & De Meuron is designing the project. A timeline for the development — located at the intersection of 6th and Alameda streets — has yet to be announced.
RACINE, WIS. — Graves Hospitality and Hilton have opened DoubleTree by Hilton Racine Harbourwalk, located at 223 Gaslight Circle in Racine. The 121-room hotel recently underwent a one-year, multi-million-dollar renovation to transform the former independently branded hotel into a DoubleTree by Hilton. The hotel features the DoubleTree Sweet Dreams Sleep Experience, free WiFi, Third Coast Wood Fire Pizza & Pub, outdoor tiki bar, indoor pool and whirlpool, and 24-hour fitness and business centers. Additionally, the property offers 4,000 square feet of meeting, event and banquet facilitates. Graves Hospitality owns and manages the hotel.
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS — Academy Sports + Outdoors is now open in Valley Ranch Town Center, a 240-acre retail district located at the intersection of I-69 and the Grand Parkway. Academy is situated in the 1,400-acre master-planned community of Valley Ranch just north of Kingwood, a development of The Signorelli Co. and is the first of over 85 stores and restaurants expected to open in Valley Ranch Town Center. This is the 95th location for Katy-based Academy Sports + Outdoors, and is expected to employ about 100 people. Houston-based Arch-Con is the contractor for the 63,000-square-foot store.
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. — Orion Capital Partners has begun construction on Cornerstone Clinic for Women, a 43,000-square-foot medical office building situated on the Baptist Health campus in west Little Rock. General contractor Bailey Construction and Consulting plans to deliver the asset in late summer 2017. Cornerstone Clinic will occupy the first floor of the building, and the second floor is still available for lease. Dr. Orman Simmons and Dr. Douglas Smith, founding partners of the clinic, were on-hand at the groundbreaking ceremony for the clinic, which represents the first new construction on the Baptist Health campus since 1999.
