BETTENDORF, IOWA — Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. has opened the $60 million land-based Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf, which is located seven miles northeast of Davenport. The casino, which relocated 223 feet from a riverboat gaming facility, features roughly 1,000 slot machines, 19 table games, a bar and two restaurants, Farmer’s Pick Buffet and Keller’s Express. An additional restaurant, Keller’s American Grill, will open later this year. The new 35,000-square-foot casino is accompanied by over 500 hotel rooms and more than 40,000 square feet of convention space. Kraus-Anderson Construction was the general contractor, and Hnedak Bobo Group Inc. was the architect of record.

ST. LOUIS — Biomedical Systems has opened a new technology and research center in St. Louis near its global headquarters. Biomedical Systems is a 40-year-old clinical trial provider to pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech and contract research organizations. The 12,000-square-foot facility houses over 70 software developers, data technicians and business analysts. The center was designed to foster innovation and integration of new technology to improve efficiencies.

MONUMENT, COLO. — Bethesda Senior Living Communities, a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit developer and operator, has broken ground on Bethesda Gardens Monument, a 60-unit assisted living and memory care community in the Colorado Springs suburb of Monument. The $13 million development is the first ground-up construction for Bethesda in more than 15 years, and will be the first seniors housing community in Monument, according to the developer. Bethesda expects to complete construction in fall 2017. The architect on the Colorado project is Lantz-Boggio Architects of Denver. Brinkman Construction of Fort Collins will provide construction services, and Compass Bank of Denver provided financing. With the two new projects, Bethesda now operates 18 seniors housing communities in Arizona, Indiana, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado and Texas.

DENVER — CVS Health has opened the first CVS Pharmacy locations in Target stores in Colorado. The pharmacies are located in several metropolitan areas, including Denver, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, and are operated through a store-within-a-store format. With the addition of 39 rebranded CVS Pharmacy locations in Target stores, the company now has its first presence in the state.

DALLAS — K2 Construction will serve as the general contractor for new downtown Dallas offices for Chubb Insurance, Compass Professional Healthcare Services (CPHS) and El Centro College. Chubb Insurance will relocate within its current building at Bryan Tower to accommodate the company’s recent acquisition by ACE Group. Chubb will shift its offices from the 33rd and 34th floors to the 3rd, 35th and 36th floors. Dallas-based K2 Construction will collaborate with Spire Realty and moran & murphy architects to build approximately 90,000 square feet of office space for the move. Sam Williamson with Spire Realty is the construction manager for this project. Meanwhile, CPHS has leased two floors in the Bank of America Plaza. The relocation of its operations from the Centrum on Oak Lawn Avenue will require 60,000 square feet on the 57th and 58th floors of the new location. Interior Architects designed the space. Darrell Payne with Peloton Commercial and Kris Hopson with CBRE are the construction managers for this project. El Centro College, a sector of Dallas County Community College District, has leased two floors in One Main Place tower located at 1201 Main St. The 10th and 11th floors will provide El Centro with approximately 57,000 …

WORCESTER, MASS. — Roseland Residential Trust, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mack-Cali Realty Corp., has broken ground for 145 Front Street at City Square in downtown Worcester. As part of a multi-phased mixed-use development, the first phase will feature 237 apartments in a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts; an outdoor swimming pool with sundeck; a courtyard with fire pit; barbecue grills; a fitness center; a full-time concierge and a clubroom with billiards, computers, lounge area and game room. Additionally, the building will feature 10,000 square feet of retail space. At full build out, the mixed-use development will feature 365 apartments, a hotel, public parking garage and significant retail space. The first-phase community is slated for completion in third quarter 2017.

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. — Case Real Estate Capital, through Case Investors III, has provided a $15.1 million first mortgage bridge loan to SAMTD Acquisitions Woodbridge LLC, a residential developer, for the purchase of 7.1 acres of fully entitled land in Woodbridge. The property is approved for the construction of 355 residential units. Case expects the borrower to partner with a construction lender within a year to develop the residential property.

DALLAS — Woods Capital has assumed property management duties for Thanksgiving Tower, a 50-story office building located in the Main Street district of downtown Dallas. Dallas-based Woods Capital, in partnership with Third Point Opportunities Master Fund, acquired Thanksgiving Tower in 2013 and has undertaken renovations on the property over the last two years.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Dermody Properties and Great Point Investors have broken ground on a new distribution facility at LogistiCenter at Logan, a master-planned 5.5 million-square-foot Class A industrial park in Logan Township. Located at 2810 Oldmans Creek Road, the 393,120-square-foot facility is slated for completion this fall. The facility will be e-commerce compliant with 36-foot clear heights and parking for 186 cars and 129 trailers. Great Point Investors is the strategic capital partner on the project.
