MORRISTOWN, TENN. — CBL & Associates Properties Inc. has announced that Dick’s Sporting Goods and Ulta Beauty will be joining College Square Mall in Morristown. The two new stores will be situated in the former J.C. Penney location. Construction on both stores is set to begin in early May with anticipated openings prior to the 2016 holiday season. Other tenants at College Square Mall include Belk, Kohl’s, American Girl, Carmike Cinemas, Longhorn Steakhouse and T.J. Maxx.

DALLAS — Jamba Inc., a health and wellness brand, has leased 25,000 square feet of space in Hall Office Park. The 16-building, 2.2 million-square-foot office park is located in Frisco. The company will relocate its headquarters from Emeryville, Calif. The new “Jamba Whirl’d Center” will be situated within an eight-story, Class A office building located at 3001 Dallas Parkway. The new Jamba headquarters will include 19,000 square feet of office and meeting space, as well as a 6,000-square-foot test kitchen and storefront. The center will house the company’s operations, business development, sales and marketing, finance, supply chain, technology and human resources divisions. Cushman & Wakefield’s Robbie Baty and Bill McClung brokered the lease on behalf of Jamba Juice and negotiated municipal and state incentives, securing grants from both the city of Frisco and the Texas Enterprise Fund. Hall Group’s Kim Butler, Brad Gibson and Tammy Nellis completed the lease on behalf of Hall Office Park.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Criterion Property Cos. has begun construction on The Scenic Residences at River East, a multifamily development in the River East neighborhood of Fort Worth. The Scenic will be a 276-unit, Class A property adjacent to Riverside Park. The development will overlook both the Trinity River and downtown Fort Worth. The Scenic will comprise studio, one- and two-bedroom units and also offer two-story townhomes. Amenities will include a pool with sundeck, indoor/outdoor pavilion, grilling kitchen, pet park, fenced yards for most first-floor units, community gardening plots, pocket parks and a trail system.
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — Leon Capital Group has begun construction on its first self-storage construction project. The 105,987-square-foot development, which is located at 215 N. A.W. Grimes Blvd. in Round Rock, will be owned and operated by Leon Capital Group and managed by CubeSmart, a national owner and operator of self-storage facilities across the U.S. The Round Rock facility is the third investment for Leon Capital Group’s self-storage platform, which operates out of the company’s Austin office. The company is set to break ground on two additional Austin-area self-storage developments by the end of this year. Construction on the Round Rock self-storage development is slated for completion in late December. Embree Construction Group Inc. is the general contractor for the project.
COLUMBIA, MO. — A partnership between CA Student Living and Fields Holdings has broken ground on Rise on 9th near the University of Missouri campus in Columbia. The 10-story, 430-bed project is the sixth development by the partnership. Brinkmann Constructors is building Rise on 9th, which was designed by ACI Boland. The project is scheduled to be completed in time for the fall 2017 academic semester.
ROSENBERG, TEXAS — NewQuest Properties has finalized a 38,835-square-foot lease with 24 Hour Fitness Worldwide Inc. at the 550-acre Brazos Town Center in the Houston suburb of Fort Bend County. Site work is underway on a tract fronting FM 762 and adjacent to Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods. The California-based fitness center pioneer is planning to open a sport club, one of four concepts in its portfolio, by year’s end. McLeod-Cobb and Bob Conwell of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord, while their colleague Jeff Hayes negotiated on behalf of 24 Hour Fitness. The project’s new tenant has more than 400 clubs nationwide and nearly 4 million members. The 99 percent leased Brazos Town Center is located at the junction of Southwest Freeway (I-69) and FM 762.
WINDERMERE, FLA. — Orlando-based Roger B. Kennedy Construction has started construction on the upscale Venetian Isles Apartments & Townhomes located at 6506 San Francesco Way and 10006 St. Marks Blvd. in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando. The $42 million community will span 302 apartment residences in 19 buildings and 44 townhomes in nine buildings. The townhomes and apartments are scheduled for completion in June 2017 and December 2017, respectively. The design team includes Orlando-based developer UNICORP National Developments Inc. and Orlando-based architect Slocum Platts Architects.
HOUSTON — The Houston office of JQ has provided structural engineering services for Caress Stadium at Helfman Field, located on The Emery/Weiner School’s 15-acre campus in southwest Houston at 9825 Stella Link Road. Construction was completed in March. The completion of Caress Stadium is part of the school’s Champions Campaign, a capital campaign with the goal of raising $20 million by 2020 to enrich academic programs, extend tuition assistance and to expand facilities to accommodate growth in its athletics and arts programs. The Caress Stadium fieldhouse project includes locker rooms, a weight room, ticket booth, concessions and support functions on the first level, along with a film deck, press box and mechanical mezzanine on the second level. There is also an on-site storage building adjacent to the field along with two wing wall structures on each end of the bleachers that will seat more than 500 spectators.
MILAN, MICH. — Wabash & Main LLC will redevelop over 10,000 square feet of retail space in Milan, approximately 17 miles south of Ann Arbor. The $5.3 million project, located at 2 E. Main St., will also include the addition of 15 loft-style apartments in addition to the eight retail spaces. The property is part of the Milan Main Street Historic District and was the first brick building built in the town. Jim Chaconas, Paul Godek and Gerald O’Connor of Colliers International represented the developer in the deal.
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WIS. — CenterPoint Properties will develop a new 200,696-square-foot industrial building within LakeView Corporate Park in Pleasant Prairie, approximately 40 miles south of Milwaukee. The speculative building, LakeView Corporate Center, can accommodate up to three tenants. The facility will feature LED lighting, 32-foot clear heights, 20 exterior docks, two drive-in doors, 18 trailer parking spaces and office space to suit. LakeView Corporate Park is an 11 million-square-foot development that is home to over 80 tenants. The project is currently spread over 2,400 acres and has more than 200 acres remaining for future development.
