SOUTH SALT LAKE, UTAH — Safehold (NYSE: SAFE) has arranged a $26.5 million ground lease to facilitate the ground-up development of One Burton, an apartment community in South Salt Lake’s new downtown district. Abstract Development Group, an affiliate of a New York-based multifamily real estate owner, will develop the 180-unit community within a Qualified Opportunity Zone.

PLAINFIELD, ILL. — Wingspan Development Group has opened Sixteen30, a 284-unit luxury apartment complex in Plainfield, about 40 miles southwest of Chicago. Featuring eight garden-style buildings surrounding a 7,500-square-foot clubhouse and pool, Sixteen30 is currently 80 percent leased. The clubhouse includes a great room, coffee bar, fitness center, demonstration kitchen, pet spa and office suites. The property also includes a 24-hour package room. Outdoor amenities include a bocce ball court, two dog parks, a fire pit and grills. Units range from 600 to 1,500 square feet. Wingspan’s sister company, Nicholas & Associates, performed the construction. Lincoln Property Co. is overseeing leasing and property management. Monthly rents start at $1,600. The name Sixteen30 comes from the property’s address near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and U.S. Route 30. Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States.

NASHVILLE, TENN. — RMR Group is underway on Station East, an 18-acre mixed-use development located at 111 N. First St. in the East Bank neighborhood of Nashville. Designed by Hastings Architecture, the development will feature 1,400 residential units, 1.2 million square feet of office space, over 600 hotel rooms, 2.9 acres of green space and 225,000 square feet of retail space. A project timeline was not disclosed.

ATLANTA — Locally based Galerie Living has received approval from DeKalb County commissioners for its redevelopment of a portion of Emory University’s Briarcliff campus in Atlanta. Galerie Living will develop and operate a new 500-unit seniors housing community that will be known as Corso Druid Hills. The community will feature independent living options such as cottages and apartments in one- and two-bedroom layouts, as well as assisted and memory care living. Emory University entered into the lease agreement with Galerie earlier this year. More details on the project are scheduled to be disclosed in the spring of next year.

TIFFIN, IOWA — Fridley Theatres, a movie theater company headquartered in Des Moines, has unveiled plans to open an 80,000-square-foot theater and entertainment center at the Park Place mixed-use development in Tiffin, about 20 miles south of Cedar Rapids. The project will be named The Palms Theatres, IMAX & Family Entertainment Center. Construction is expected to begin next year. Ders Group is the developer of Park Place.

SANTA ROSA, CALIF. — Buchanan Mortgage Holdings, an affiliate of Newport Beach, Calif.-based Buchanan Street Partners, has provided a $35.5 million non-recourse senior construction loan for the development of an apartment community located at 888 Fourth in downtown Santa Rosa. Construction was approximately 50 percent completed at the time of loan closing. Totaling 108 apartments, the multifamily property will offer unobstructed views from all units, a rooftop hot tub, third-level recreation terrace, ground-level picnic area and a fitness center. The market-rate multifamily property is slated to open in mid-2023. The name of the borrower was not released.

ANNAPOLIS, MD. — Trademark Property Co. has completed the renovation of Annapolis Town Center, a mixed-use development in Annapolis spanning 2 million square feet. Whole Foods Market and Target anchor the property, which is also home to retailers including Anthropologie, RH and Paper Source. Trademark’s improvements included the addition of green space and a new community gathering area called Green Village; a climate-controlled paseo for improved connectivity and walkability; improved signage and wayfinding; and art installations from local artists. A number of new tenants are set to open within Annapolis Town Center this year, including True Food Kitchen, Tuscan Prime, Warby Parker, Life Time Fitness, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, GABBY Summer Classics Home, Urbano Mexican Fare, Tempur Sealy and VIBE.

TAMPA, FLA. — Crescent Communities and CP Capital US have broken ground on Novel Independence Park, a 277-unit apartment community located in Tampa’s Westshore Business District. The property will serve as the multifamily component of Independence Park, a 44-acre mixed-use development site. Units will feature stainless steel appliances, stone surface countertops and vinyl wood flooring, and amenities will include a fitness center with a private yoga and spin studio, pool deck overlooking a pond, rooftop lounge, indoor-outdoor private events space, dog park, detached garages and a pedestrian nature trail. The site is situated within walking distance to Rocky Point Golf Club, Skyway Sports Complex and the trailhead for the Skyway Park Trail. The design-build team for Novel Independence Park includes architectural firm Dwell Design Studio, landscape architect LandDesign, civil engineer Haiff Associates and interior designer Vignette Interior Design. CBG Construction is serving as the general contractor. The construction timeline was not disclosed.

NEW YORK CITY — Hyatt Hotels Corp. (NYSE: H) has opened The Grayson, a 296-room hotel located at 30 W. 39th St. in Midtown Manhattan that is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt family of brands. Guestrooms feature exposed concrete ceilings, bathrooms with subway tiles and mini-fridges with craft cocktails. In addition, the hotel houses multiple food-and-beverage concepts, as well as a fitness center. Italian architect Marcello Pozzi designed The Grayson, and Fortune Hotel Collection developed and manages the property. Opening preview rates start at $409 per night.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Wells Fargo has provided Banyan Residential with a $64.5 million loan to finance the construction of Banyan Silo Ridge, a single-family rental community located in Wilmington. The development, which spans 75 acres, will offer homes in two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts. Each home will feature a one- or two-car attached garage and a private backyard. Community amenities include a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse, fitness center, pool, landscaped grounds and a fenced dog park. Construction is underway on the property, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2024 and the first homes expected to be delivered in early 2023.
