Bass Pro Shops Opens First Connecticut Location in Steelpointe Harbor

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. — Bass Pro Shops has opened its first Connecticut location at Steelpointe Harbor, a 2 million-square-foot mixed-use property in Bridgeport. The 150,000-square-foot store features Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl and Grill restaurant; Black Widow Billiards parlor with two tournament pool tables; a 12-lane bowling alley; an archery range; and an aquarium. Steelpointe Harbor, a 50-acre, $750 million project, is being developed by Bridgeport Landing Development, a subsidiary of The RCI Group.

Lee & Associates Houston Adds 17 Industrial Brokers to Roster

HOUSTON — A group of 17 industrial specialists from The National Realty Group (TNRG) have joined Lee & Associates Houston. With this addition, the Houston office of Lee & Associates, the largest broker-owned commercial real estate firm in the nation, increases its brokerage team to 28 members. “I am incredibly excited about what this means to our office and our national outreach,” says Chris Lewis, managing partner of Lee & Associates Houston. “The transition to Lee & Associates Houston has been an amicable split by both the brokers and TNRG, and we anticipate our relationship with TNRG to remain strong and fruitful.” Jeffrey Rinkov, CEO of Lee & Associates, echoed Lewis’ comments. “This is one of the single-largest broker moves in our company’s history,” says Rinkov. “To have the opportunity to gain this much expertise and experience is incredibly satisfying. PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA. — Keystone Property Group has unveiled its plan to redevelop One Plymouth Meeting, a 180,000-square-foot office property located at 502 W. Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting. The nine-story building will be renovated to accommodate modern workplace demands, including the addition of amenities, interior and exterior upgrades, and to qualify for LEED certification. Overlooking Plymouth Meeting Mall, the office building has walkable access to various of restaurants and retail venues as well as an AMC movie theater.

Ensign Engineering, John Ciardullo Associates Complete $2.6M Library, Learning Center in NYC

NEW YORK CITY — Construction manager Ensign Engineering and architect John Ciardullo Associates have completed the Aeronautical and Academic Library and Teaching and Learning Center at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, located at 86-01 23rd Ave. in Flushing. The $2.6 million library and learning center was the final phase of the $40 million expansion, renovation and sound mitigation construction program at the college’s main campus. The 11,000-square-foot library is designed to hold a collection of 26,300 items and features four enclosed classrooms with 70 computer stations, reading and studying rooms, and a flexible seating area with seven large tables that seat up to 42 patrons. The renovations were financed through grants, totaling $32 million, from the Federal Aviation Administration and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Additionally, Vaughn invested $7 million from its own funds. The design and construction team included Ensign Engineering, John Ciardullo Associates, Library Interiors Inc., Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, DVL Consulting Engineers and Peter George Associates.

The Morgan Partners Breaks Ground on 49,500 SF of Retail Space in Wausau, Wisconsin

WAUSAU, WIS. — The Morgan Partners has broken ground on a 45,000-square-foot Dick’s Sporting Goods and a 4,500-square-foot Red Robin in Wausau. The retail buildings will be situated on 5.2 acres. Neighboring tenants include Walmart, PetSmart, Michaels, Best Buy and Starbucks Coffee. Grant Schwab of The Morgan Partners represented the development team. Jon Reese of Great Street Realty Partners and Dan Cohen of Mid-America Real Estate-Wisconsin represented Dick’s Sporting Goods and Red Robin. Both businesses are slated to open in early 2016.

Aligned Data Centers Opens New Facility in Plano

PLANO, TEXAS — Aligned Data Centers, a division of Aligned Energy, has opened a new data center in Plano. The Aligned Plano data center, situated on a 19-acre campus at 2800 Summit Ave., offers 108,000 square feet and 12.5 megawatts of power. When complete, the site will provide 300,000 square feet and 30 megawatts.

Quadrum Global to Build 26-Story Hotel in Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY — Quadrum Global is planning to construct a hotel at at 351 W. 38th St. in Manhattan, a property the firm acquired last year. Marvel Architects will design the 26-story, 500-room hotel, which is situated within the boundaries of the Hudson Yards district. In addition to the site, Quadrum has the opportunity to acquire addition air rights at the site, which would allow for increased density. The firm has hired JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group to advise on the selection of hotel brand and operator to align with the hotel’s lifestyle amenities and services.

Heritage Equity Partners, Lichtenstein Group to Redevelop Five Warehouses in Brooklyn

NEW YORK CITY — Heritage Equity Partners and Lichtenstein Group have partnered to redevelop five vacant warehouses into Bushwick Generator. The interconnected buildings at 215 Moore St. in Brooklyn will be transformed into a 75,000-square-foot light industrial, office and retail property, offering space office or workspaces ranging from 1,500 square feet to 20,000 square feet. Brooklyn-based ABS Partners has been retained as the office leasing agent for the property, which is geared toward new economy industries, including tech, creative arts and food production.

HFF Secures $28.2M Construction Financing for Embassy Suites in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TEXAS — HFF has secured $28.2 million in construction financing to develop a 225-room Embassy Suites hotel to anchor the Civic Center redevelopment in Amarillo. HFF worked on behalf of the developer, NewcrestImage, to secure the financing through Southwest Bank, the largest locally owned bank in Fort Worth. Located at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Buchanan Street, the 200,000-square-foot Embassy Suites hotel will be part of planned improvements in downtown Amarillo surrounding Amarillo’s Civic Center, a multi-purpose convention center that will also include retail, a parking garage and an entertainment venue/ballpark. Amarillo is the 14th-largest city in Texas and the largest city in the Texas Panhandle. The all-suite, Hilton-branded hotel will feature 30,000 square feet of meeting and function space, 300 parking spots in an adjacent garage, lounge and lobby bar, pool, fitness center and full-service restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is expected to be complete in 2017. Travis Anderson and Jim Curtin led the HFF debt placement team representing the borrower.
