OKLAHOMA CITY — Embassy Suites Oklahoma City Downtown/Medical Center is now open in Oklahoma City. The new hotel is the third Embassy Suites property in Oklahoma. The full-service hotel includes 195 two-room guest suites and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space. There is an on-site restaurant, E.S. Founders, led by chef Andrew Black. OU E. Suites LLC own Embassy Suites Oklahoma City Downtown/Medical Center and Prism Hotels & Resorts manages the property. The hotel’s amenities include free made-to-order breakfast, a 24-hour fitness center and a business center. The hotel is located at 741 N. Phillips Ave. near downtown Oklahoma City.

PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS — Baker Katz has completed the renovation of a 90,000-square-foot retail center in Port Arthur. Located at the corner of Highway 69 and FM 365, Baker Katz transformed the single-tenant building into a multi-tenant center, with interior and exterior property renovations as well as added an additional 7,000-square-foot building. Port Arthur Center is fully leased to tenants including Hobby Lobby, Party City, PetSmart, Firehouse Subs, Cash Store, Gulfside Dental and Chipotle Mexican Grill. The 57,300-square-foot Hobby Lobby and 14,000-square-foot Party City are open and fully operating, while the remaining tenants are slated to open in late 2015. Baker Katz purchased the building from the Sutherland Lumber Co. in 2012.
OKLAHOMA CITY — The new DoubleTree by Hilton Oklahoma City Airport hotel is now open. Renovations on the 134-room, full-service hotel included updates to the design and furnishings throughout the lobby, guest rooms and public areas. Suenos LLC owns the hotel. HP Hotels, the same team that owns and operates Hilton Garden Inn North Quail Springs in Oklahoma City, manages the property. The hotel’s guest rooms feature HDTVs, a refrigerator and microwave and complimentary WiFi. Community amenities include an indoor heated pool and hot tub, 24-hour fitness center, business center, on-site parking and shuttle service to and from the airport. Three meeting rooms span more than 1,600 feet of event space. The hotel is located off I-40 and is four miles from Will Rogers World Airport (OKC).DoubleTree by Hilton Oklahoma City Airport is located at 4410 SW. 19th Street.
DALLAS — Mill Creek Residential will renovate the Lakewood on the Trail apartment complex in Dallas as part of its value-add joint venture with AEW Capital Management. Mill Creek purchased the 352-unit complex in September 2013 and completed a renovation of the clubhouse. The company plans to renovate the units. Each apartment unit at the complex, built in the 1980s, will undergo an extensive upgrade package, including the addition of custom cabinets, granite countertops, modern lighting and new faucets. The new clubhouse and leasing office features a brand-new fitness studio and a Starbucks coffee station. Located at 101 N Brookside Dr., Lakewood on the Trail offers direct access to the Santa Fe Trail and is adjacent to the Lakewood Country Club. Mill Creek owns and operates 560 apartment homes in the Dallas market, with an additional 507 apartments under construction.
KATY, Texas — Satterfield & Pontikes Construction has been selected by Medistar Corporation to construct an 80-bed skilled nursing facility at Katy Fort Bend Road and Colonial Parkway in far west Harris County. Work on the 60,000-square-foot building is scheduled to begin early this year. Construction is expected to take approximately 11 months. The $12.3 million Kindred Parkwest Skilled Nursing Facility was designed by architect Davis Stokes Collaborative PC of Brentwood, Tenn. The 5-acre site will have room for future expansion to 120 inpatient rooms. The two-story building will feature a structural steel frame and an exterior façade of synthetic stucco, brick and stone. A separate generator with a weatherproof enclosure will be installed to provide emergency power. Medistar Corporation is a full-service real estate development company that specializes in the design, development, financing and construction of office buildings and other facilities for the healthcare industry.
FLOWER MOUND, TEXAS — MYCON General Contractors has begun construction on the Parkview Commerce Center. Located on the southeast corner of Spinks and Gerault roads, the industrial complex will consist of three buildings totaling 276,054 square-feet. Building 1 is located at 1001 Spinks Road and will span 84,760 square feet. Building 2 is located at 901 Spinks Road and will span 50,590 square feet. Building 3 is located at 900 Gerault Road and will span 140,704 square feet. The three Class A buildings will include curtain wall features, LED lighting, sunshades, canopies and loading docks. All buildings are dock high and provide for flexible office or warehouse uses. Buildings 1 and 2 are designed to accommodate multiple users ranging from 8,000 to 85,000 square feet, while Building 3 is designed for one or two tenants ranging from 38,000 to 141,000 square feet. The project team includes owner/developer EastGroup Properties, Architects-Plus and MYCON General Contractors. The project is slated for completion in the summer of 2015.
FRISCO, TEXAS — Gander Mountain, an outdoor retailer, will open a new location in Frisco this fall. The newest Gander Mountain store will be located in a new 60,100-square-foot space in the Eldorado Marketplace, near the northeast corner of Eldorado Parkway and Dallas North Tollway. It will be the 22nd Gander Mountain location in Texas, and the fifth in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Gander Mountain’s newest store will feature one of the largest selections of new and used firearms in Texas, together with the best selection of gear and accessories for hunting, fishing, camping, boating and archery. The store will offer a selection of men’s and women’s active performance outdoor and casual apparel featuring brands like Under Armour, The North Face, GSX, Columbia, Carhartt, Guide Series and Kühl, and a variety of men’s and women’s active footwear featuring brands like Asics, Merrell, Rocky, Reebok, Reef, Keen, Irish Setter, Teva, New Balance, Patagonia, Timberland, LaCrosse, Itasca, Saucony and Salomon.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS —The DreamVision Co., a Fort Worth-based, privately owned entertainment and media enterprise, plans to open a multi-billion dollar theme park in Fort Worth. In addition, executive Dave Goodman has been named president of DreamVision Theme Parks. The parks are being developed in partnership with Bryan Robinson, CEO of Provident Global Capital LLC. Slated to open in 2020, DreamVision Mountain/DreamScape Texas will transport guests through multiple themed lands and attractions. In the center of the park will be the DreamVision Mountain, an indoor winter snow attraction that will feature winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and bobsledding. The company has already begun pre-development on the park. Dave Goodman, a longtime entertainment executive, will head up the theme park division. Goodman is a former vice president of entertainment and executive producer at Disneyland Resort. He has held executive level positions at Walt Disney Special Events Group and Busch Entertainment Corp.
DALLAS — Gaedeke Group LLC has acquired an 11-acre tract to develop a multi-tenant office project in the $2 billion Legacy West development. The site is across the street from Toyota Corp.’s $350 million North American headquarters campus and in close proximity to the recently announced Liberty Mutual Insurance service center. The development site was purchased in an off-market transaction with SWC Tollway & 121 LLC. Glenn Lickstein of Gaedeke Group represented the buyer. Jim Judge of Wicker & Associates represented the seller. Gaedeke Group’s development site is located at the corner of Highway 121/Sam Rayburn Tollway and Legacy Drive, just west of the mixed-use Legacy West parcel, which is currently under construction.
EULESS, TEXAS — CATO Fashions/CATO Plus has leased a 4,000-square-foot space at Glade Parks, which is located at 2951 State Highway 121 in Euless. The fashion retailer joins anchors Dick’s Sporting Goods, ULTA Beauty, Michaels, HomeGoods, Boot Barn and Kirkland’s within this 800,000-square-foot project. Dawn Greiner and Rick Ikeler of SRS Real Estate Partners represented the tenant in the transaction.
