DALLAS — DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas — Love Field, located one-quarter mile from Dallas Love Field Airport, is now open. The 244-room property, formerly a Wyndham hotel, recently underwent a $2 million renovation that includes upgrades to the north entrance, parking lot and various public areas of the hotel. DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas – Love Field is owned by Mockingbird Partners LP and managed by Viceroy Investments LLC. Amenities include Wi-Fi throughout the hotel’s public areas and guest rooms, laundry and valet services, a 24-hour fitness center, outdoor pool and complimentary 24-hour shuttle service to Love Field Airport. The hotel also features 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas — Love Field is located at 3300 W. Mockingbird Lane.

TULSA, OKLAHOMA — TGC Development Group of Wichita, Kan., has broken ground on a four-story, 124-unit Value Place extended stay hotel at 11000 E. 45th St. in Tulsa near Broken Arrow Expressway and U.S. Highway 169. This will be the second extended stay hotel for TGC in the Tulsa area. The hotel will feature three room layouts with modified kitchens. Amenities include on-site laundry, vending and Wi-Fi. Wichita-based Ink Construction will begin construction immediately on the 45,000-square-foot hotel, which is slated to be completed in the fall.
MIDLAND, TEXAS — Home2 Suites by Hilton has opened its 46th hotel, Home2 Suites by Hilton Midland. The 93-suite hotel is located at 1401 Catalina Drive and is the seventh property for the brand in Texas. Home2 Suites Midland is located near Midland International Airport, Loop 250 and Highway 191 and Scharbauer Sports Complex. TMI Hospitality Inc. manages the hotel.
COPPELL, TEXAS — Construction is complete on Logistics Center I, the largest non-terminal development ever built at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Officials from the airport, the city of Coppell, and joint venture developers Hillwood Investment Properties and Perot Development Co. held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the 1 million-square-foot, cross-dock facility on Jan. 29. Logistics Center I will be a distribution center located at 2701 W. Bethel Rd. in Coppell. The development is situated on 60 acres located near I-635, I-35 East, I-35 West, State Highway 114, State Highway 121 and the President George Bush Turnpike. Features include minimum 36-foot clear ceiling heights, over 200 dock doors, 550 parking spots and 500 trailer storage positions. The facility was built on a speculative basis. Halff Associates served as the project architect and civil engineer and Hillwood Construction Services was the general contractor.
PLANO, TEXAS — Junction 15, a mixed-use development in Plano, is now open. Junction 15 is a five-story development with 279 units in studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layout. Amenities include walk-in utility rooms in select units, hardwood-like flooring and chef-inspired kitchens great for entertaining. The apartments sit above 8,000 square feet of retail space anchored by a 7-Eleven convenience store. Other retailers include Paws Dog Barkery, The Day Spa, Amazeballz and Sweet as Sugar Children’s Boutique. Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere and other Plano city officials joined developer Southern Land Co. on Jan. 27 at a grand opening ceremony for the project. Located at 930 E. 15th St. in Plano, the community was developed under a public-private partnership between Southern Land and the city of Plano. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG) also contributed to the development of the project, which is designed to help revitalize of downtown Plano.
HOUSTON — Lee & Associates has opened a second office in Texas. Lee & Associates Houston will join the Lee & Associates Dallas/Fort Worth team in providing client services. Lee & Associates Houston is comprised of brokers from Griffin Partners Inc., a local boutique real estate player who has partnered with Lee & Associates to open the office. The office is located at the One Riverway building in Houston. Chris Lewis, Drew Lewis, Josh Cheatham and Travis Taylor will head Lee & Associates Houston. The new office will continue its relationship with Griffin Partners, providing project-leasing services.
DALLAS — Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and New Orleans-based KFK Group will open a new Starwood managed Westin hotel in downtown Dallas. The Westin Dallas Downtown will open by December 2015 as part of an adaptive re-use project that will transform the complex into a lifestyle development. Construction has already begun, following KFK’s acquisition of the 1-million-square-foot building in March of last year. The Westin Dallas Downtown will feature 323 guest rooms and extensive meeting facilities. The hotel will anchor the redevelopment of the office building known as “One Main Place.” The vertical mixed-use property will feature a dedicated hotel entrance parallel to Elm Street and a second floor hotel lobby in the former banking hall. Hotel facilities will include a three meal restaurant, a bar and more than 27,000 square feet of meeting space including a ballroom overlooking the eastern courtyard.
SPRING, TEXAS — Construction will soon begin on Havenwood Office Park at 25700 I-45 North, between Woodlands Parkway and Sawdust Road in Spring. The development will replace the current Brookhaven Business Park. Havenwood Office Park will feature a LEED Silver-certified, four-story building spanning 250,000 square feet of Class A office space. Everson Developments LLC is the developer and The J. Beard Real Estate Co. will handle leasing of the space.. The project will be designed by Powers Brown Architects and will be built by EE Reed Construction LP. Amenities will include a parking garage, covered walkways and an outdoor plaza. Construction will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
DALLAS — C1S Group will provide design-build services to restore a historic building in Dallas and renovate it for modern live concert audiences. Renovation of the Bomb Factory will be completed in March 2015 and will be the largest concert venue in the historic Deep Ellum district of Dallas. The 48,000-square-foot facility is located on Canton Street near downtown Dallas and is an early 20th century building that was originally an automotive plant. The Dallas-based professional engineering and construction firm will demolish several walls and other infrastructure that is in disrepair. The existing roof structure will be replaced to increase the height of the facility in order to accommodate stage equipment and a mezzanine level. C1S will also build a new stage, several bar areas and a new HVAC system. The renovated space will be able to house almost 3,000 people for concerts.
PLANO, TEXAS — Ascension Group Architects recently completed Oceans Behavioral Health Hospital Plano in Plano. The hospital opened to patients in September. The 48-bed, 37,000-square-foot hospital is located at 4301 Mapleshade Lane and provides care to adults 55 and older with behavioral disturbances and other brain-related degenerative conditions. The hospital is a joint venture between Dallas-based real estate investment and development company SRP Medical and Louisiana-based Oceans Healthcare.
