GAFFNEY, S.C. — Jalaram Hotels Inc. has opened the Holiday Inn Express Gaffney, an 81-room hotel located in Gaffney, a South Carolina town along Interstate 85 that is equidistant between Greenville and Charlotte. Providence, R.I.-based TPG Hotels, Resorts & Marinas operates the hotel, which is situated across from the Gaffney Outlet Mall. The Holiday Inn Express Gaffney features meeting space, complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, a business center, fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool. Jalaram Hotels is based in St. Augustine, Fla., and has several hotels in northeast Florida in its ownership and management portfolio.

CHICAGO — Skender has completed the interior office buildout for Milwaukee Tool at the Old Post Office in Chicago. The 70,000-square-foot space is located on the third floor and features 10,000 square feet of research and development lab space as well as 60,000 square feet of open and private offices. The office component also includes a large collaboration area called the Beehive, plus a training room and multiple conference rooms. The office is Milwaukee Tool’s first outside of Wisconsin. Skender collaborated with owner’s representative JLL, architects Nelson and SPS and engineering firm McGuire. Skender also entered into an official partnership with Milwaukee Tool to streamline access to its power tools and products for future projects.

JENSEN BEACH, FLA. — Simon Property Group has signed Elev8 Fun to a 115,000-square-foot lease to backfill a former Sears department store at Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach, a suburb of Port St. Lucie. The entertainment venue will feature go-carts, arcade games, laser tag, 12 bowling lanes and axe throwing, as well as party rooms, meeting space and a restaurant with a full bar. This location will be the third Florida venue for Elev8 Fun, which has identified 15 potential locations at malls and shopping centers around the state for its expansion. PrimeTime Amusements, a gaming machine supplier based in Fort Lauderdale, is a partner in the new Elev8 Fun location at Treasure Coast Square Mall.

GARDEN CITY, GA. — Duke Realty Corp. has signed Newline Interactive, a manufacturer of touch display screens and other interactive communication hardware, to a 113,400-square-foot industrial lease approximately two miles from the Port of Savannah. The tenant will fully occupy a speculative facility currently under development at 15 Aviation Court in Garden City, which is situated on a nearly 10-acre site. The facility is designed to achieve LEED certification and will feature a clear height of 30 feet, 30 dock doors and 32 trailer parking spots. Cushman & Wakefield | Gilbert & Ezelle served as the tenant representative for the lease negotiations, and Brian Sutton represented Duke Realty internally. The lease with Newline brings Duke Realty’s 8.2 million-square-foot portfolio in the Savannah area to full occupancy.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Kaplan Cos. has opened Amaranth at North Brunswick, a 222-unit active adult community located approximately midway between New York City and Philadelphia. Apartments range in size from 823 to 1,397 square feet. Amenities include a resident lounge, demonstration kitchen, card room, doggie day spa, yoga studio with interactive mirrors and a package room. Kaplan is also underway on its second Amaranth development in nearby East Windsor. Information on starting rents was not disclosed.

CHICAGO — The Park Hyatt Chicago hotel at 800 N. Michigan Ave. is scheduled to reopen this summer following a $60 million renovation that began early this year. Reservations are now available to book for stays beginning July 1. The renovation project included 23 new suite additions, reimagined guestrooms, enhancements to the lobby and library, new art selections, and updates to the food and beverage programs as well as the spa. Design firm Anderson/Miller Ltd. worked on the modernization of the guestrooms and suites. Sheedy DeLaRosa Interiors designed the lobby and library on the ground floor to complement the new art selections. NoMI Kitchen will reopen with Executive Chef Terence Zubieta at the helm.

NEW YORK CITY — Sage Realty, a division of The William Kaufman Organization, will undertake a $53 million renovation of 767 Third Avenue, a 40-story, 320,000-square-foot office building in Manhattan. Capital improvements will include a facelift of the lobby and the revamping and introduction of new and existing amenity spaces. Upon full completion of the project in the first quarter of 2023, tenants will have access to a café, lounge, library, catering kitchen, sculpture garden and a salon meeting room. Touchless mechanisms and other features that promote wellness will also be installed throughout the property. FXCollaborative led the  redesign of the lobby, and Fogarty Finger designed the amenity spaces.

ST. PAUL, MINN. — Kraus-Anderson has completed the interior buildout of the new office for Pope Design Group in St. Paul. The design firm, formerly known as Pope Architects Inc., now occupies a 16,760-square-foot office at the historic Case Building located at 767 N. Eustis St. The open floor plan was designed to maximize collaboration among employees. Kraus-Anderson and Pope have worked together on hundreds of projects over the past 50 years.

ATLANTA — A joint venture between Brand Properties LLC, Highwoods Properties Inc. and Batson-Cook Development Co. has broken ground on 2827 Peachtree, a boutique office building in Atlanta’s Buckhead district. The 135,000-square-foot property, which will feature 11,000 square feet of retail space, is 62 percent preleased. Designed by Atlas Collaborative, the project will include large, elevated patios with Wi-Fi access and private balconies for select offices. The main entrance will feature an archway with a valet drop-off, and amenities will include a fitness center, boardroom, covered parking and efficient operating systems. The project team includes civil engineer Planners and Engineers Collaborative and general contractor Batson-Cook Construction. The joint venture expects construction of 2827 Peachtree to be completed by the third quarter of 2023.

LOS ANGELES — Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital (BWE) has closed a $77 million nonrecourse construction loan for a flex office campus in northern Los Angeles. The borrower plans to develop a 204,600-square-foot building with 35-foot clear heights, specialized office build-out and onsite trailer storage space. Additionally, a new parking structure will be constructed on the site. Tom Kenny, Josh Boehling and Alex Gregoire of BWE’s Irvine, Calif., office originated the financing on behalf of the borrower. The financing was arranged with a bank lender for an initial three-year term, with an optional extension.
