TUCSON, ARIZ. — Scottsdale-based Greenlight Communities and Holualoa Cos. are developing Cabana Bridges, an apartment property located within the 350-acre Bridges mixed-use development in Tucson. Greenlight acquired the land site in early October for $3.4 million and plans to start construction in the upcoming weeks. The $50 million Cabana Bridges is slated to welcome its first residents in January 2023. The community will feature 288 apartments, contemporary appliances and kitchen finishes, luxury vinyl tile, a co-working lounge and fitness center, as well as access to smart-home technology.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Locally based development and investment firm The Kane Co. has completed construction of a 91,000-square-foot office building at 145 Maplewood Ave. in Portsmouth, located in the southern coastal part of the Granite State. New Hampshire-based firm PROCON handled design and construction of the project, which includes ground-floor retail space. Tenants include Heinemann Publishing, Steward Partners and Sentient Decision Science.
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Center Square, a company specializing in community events and entertainment centers, has leased a 33,000-square-foot warehouse at 225 Neilston St. in the historic Warehouse District of Columbus. The company plans to transform the building into The Kee, a community center with an indoor-outdoor event venue and a restaurant and bar. The landlord, Hackman Capital Partners, owns the majority of the real estate in the Warehouse District. Clayton Davis and Alex Ashworth of JLL represented both the landlord and the tenant in the lease transaction. Center Square plans to program events at the venue such as concerts, comedy shows, fitness classes, art exhibits and farmer’s markets. There will also be an onsite catering option for private parties, weddings and corporate events. The Kee is expected to open in July 2022.
GREENWOOD, IND. — CA Industrial and Clarion Partners have broken ground on the Indy South Logistics Center, a two-building speculative industrial development spanning 708,000 square feet in Greenwood, about 12 miles south of Indianapolis. Completion of both buildings is slated for summer 2022. Situated at 955 N. Graham Road, the project will offer immediate access to I-65 and I-465. The Peterson Co. is the general contractor. JLL’s Steve Schwegman and Brian Seitz will market the project for lease.
Thornydale Apartments Breaks Ground on 209-Unit The Alexander Multifamily Community in Marana, Arizona

MARANA, ARIZ. — Thornydale Apartments LLC, c/o Sears Financial Corp., has broken ground on The Alexander, a $49 million multifamily property located at 3915 W. Aerie Drive in Marana. The 292,850-square-foot development will feature two main mid-rise buildings, six garage buildings providing 12 loft units with attached garages, and two freestanding garages. The 209-unit property will offer technology and wellness amenities, including property-wide high-speed internet, keyless door and property access, lighting and temperature controls, and DISH TV, as well as blackout blinds in the bedrooms and adjustable smart lighting to customize the in-unit environment. Community amenities will include a dog park, barbecue area, bike storage and repair area, a resort-style pool, fitness center, outdoor fitness area and a variety of wellness offerings. Completion is slated for June 2023. Thornydale Apartments is owner/developer of the property, which Shelton Residential will manage. The project team includes Way Architects P.C., EMJ Construction, Dish Fiber and Data Link, Perry Engineering and The Planning Center.
DUNCAN, S.C. — Atlanta-based Seefried Industrial Properties has broken ground on Victor Hill Distribution Center, a 185,250-square-foot industrial project in Duncan. Located at 1117 Victor Hill Road on a 15-acre site, Victor Hill is situated about 3.6 miles from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, 17.8 miles from downtown Greenville and 2.3 miles from BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, S.C. The Class A distribution center is being built on a speculative basis and is slated for completion and for tenant occupancy by July 2022. The building will have 32-foot clear heights, a rear-load configuration with a 185-foot truck court, 30 dock doors, 135 parking spaces and 50 trailer spaces. Additionally, the building will offer 2,300 square feet of office space. Doug Smith and Joseph Tripp of Seefried Industrial Properties will internally lead leasing for the building. Pattillo Construction Corp. is the general contractor at Victor Hill, and MCA Architecture is the project architect.
BLAINE, MINN. — The Opus Group has broken ground on a 137,178-square-foot speculative industrial building known as Sanctuary Business Center in Blaine, a northern suburb of Minneapolis. The property will feature two drive-in doors, 32 dock positions, parking for 160 vehicles, trailer parking and LED lighting. Completion is slated for July 2022. Opus is the developer, design-builder, interior designer, architect and structural engineer. Stantec is the civil engineer. Danny McNamara of Cushman & Wakefield is the listing broker for the property.
KYLE, TEXAS — Los Angeles-based Banyan Residential has broken ground on Banyan Bunton Creek, a 163-unit single-family rental (SFR) community in Kyle, located in between Austin and San Antonio. Residences will feature two-car garages, fully landscaped backyards and modern interiors, and renters will have access to a pool with a splash pad and cabanas. Leasing is scheduled to begin early next year. An affiliate of Walton Street Capital is financing the project, which will be Banyan Residential’s second SFR community following the July opening of the 96-unit Banyan Kingsland Heights in Houston.
JOLIET, ILL. — Krusinski Construction Co. has broken ground on a 19,000-square-foot automotive center for Cassidy Best-One Tire & Service in Joliet. The project will be situated within the Rock Creek Logistics Center at 3100 Channahon Road. The facility will provide truck and automobile tire work as well as general vehicle maintenance services. The project will feature 20 drive-in doors, 10 service bays and 1,000 square feet of office space. Completion is slated for early 2022. Cornerstone Architects is the architect and Jacob & Hefner Associates is the civil engineer. Ketone Partners is the developer of the project and the owner of Rock Creek Logistics Center, which is a 263-acre business park that offers direct access to I-80.
WAYNE, NEB. — Darland Construction Co. is underway on an expansion and renovation of Providence Medical Center in the eastern Nebraska town of Wayne. Darland is adding a 20,000-square-foot addition to the east side of the hospital’s campus to accommodate the growing imaging and specialty outpatient services. Plans also call for removing a second entry point in favor of one prominent, secure main entry. After the addition is completed, Darland will complete a 20,000-square-foot remodel to include a new surgical suite, management area and administrative offices. Completion is slated for summer 2023.
