AUSTIN, TEXAS — ARA Newmark’s Student Housing Group based in Austin has arranged the sale of four student housing properties located in Texas. Dispositions include Rio West, a 388-bed community located near the University of Texas in Austin; Javelina Station, a 360-bed community located near Texas A&M-Kingsville in Kingsville; Brook Place, a 534-bed community located near Sam Houston State University in Huntsville; and The Timbers, a 253-bed community located near Texas State University in San Marcos. North Star Asset Management Co. sold Rio West to Columbus Nova, with Coastal Ridge Real Estate as its operating partner. Oldham Goodwin Group sold Javelina Station to Houston-based ApexOne Investment Partners. ApexOne Investment Partners sold Brook Place to Campus Advantage. University Communities sold The Timbers to Jacobson Cos. Ryan Lang of ARA Newmark represented the sellers in each of the transactions.

HOUSTON — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of a land parcel located at 2401 N. Shepherd Drive in Houston. Braun Enterprises acquired the 52,305-square-foot site for an undisclosed price. The property is located across from HEB’s potential new location in the Houston Heights area. Justin Miller and Derek Hargrove of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, a local family partnership, while Miller, Hargrove and David Hansen, also of Marcus & Millichap, represented the buyer in the transaction.

DALLAS — WeWork has leased 84,000 square feet of office space at Thanksgiving Tower in Dallas from Woods Capital. WeWork, which offers collaborative work spaces for teams of any size, plans to occupy three floors of the newly renovated office tower in spring 2017. Dallas-based Woods Capital acquired Thanksgiving Tower in 2013 and since then has implemented a more than $35 million renovation program at the property.

ARLINGTON AND IRVING, TEXAS — Stream Realty Partners has arranged two sales of industrial properties in Texas totaling 19,344 square feet. In the first deal, Howell Properties LLC sold a 12,344-square-foot warehouse property located at 2901 Galleria Drive in Arlington to NP Arlington Industrial LLC for an undisclosed sum. Matt Dornak and Luke Davis of Stream Realty Partners represented the seller, while Coy E. Garrett & Associates represented the buyer in the transaction. In the second deal, Midnight Mechanics Inc. acquired a 7,000-square-foot industrial property located at 1720 Peters Road in Irving from BLJC PPTIES LCC for an undisclosed price. Hanes Chatham of Stream Realty Partners represented the buyer, while Henry S. Miller Brokerage represented the seller in the transaction.

ORLANDO, FLA. — CBRE has arranged the $8.5 million sale of Baldwin III, a three-story office building located on New Broad Street within Village City Center in east Orlando’s Baldwin Park submarket. Owens Realty Capital purchased the 44,478-square-foot property from Baldwin III LLC. Built in 2008 by Lincoln Property Co., Baldwin III is the newest of four office buildings within Village City Center and has averaged 93 percent occupancy over the last five years. Ron Rogg and Chip Wooten of CBRE represented the seller in the transaction.

STAMFORD, CONN. — Henkel Consumer Goods Inc. has leased 135,000 square feet of office space at 200 Elm St. in downtown Stamford. The tenant will use the newly renovated space as headquarters for Henkel in North America. The building is part of BLT Financial Centre, which also includes 695 E. Main St. in Stamford. Building and Land Technology (BLT) acquired the property in 2012 and recently completed a multi-million-dollar renovation to transform the vacant corporate property into an amenity-rich, fully modernized office asset.

NEW YORK CITY — Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Bruce Mosler, chairman of Global Brokerage, as chair of the firm’s Veterans Initiative. In this role, Mosler will oversee a comprehensive program aimed at hiring U.S. veterans into various service lines and geographies at the Cushman & Wakefield. In order to meet its goal of hiring additional veterans to its workforce, the company will leverage existing relationships with partner veteran-focused organizations, like Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families and the Fisher House Foundation. Additionally, the firm will work closely with the Veterans Jobs Mission, a coalition of more than 230 companies that have collectively employed 348,000 veterans.

LOMBARD, ILL. — Berkadia has brokered the sale of Westmore Apartments, a multifamily property in the Chicago suburb of Lombard, for $29.2 million. Built in 1968, the property is located at 1049 S. Westmore Ave. The 230-unit apartment building features one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Ralph DePasquale of Berkadia arranged the sale. A Chicago-based private seller sold the property. Axiom Westmore LLC was the buyer.

TROY, MICH. — Colliers International has arranged the sale of a 16,848-square-foot industrial facility located at 2701 Industrial Row Dr. in Troy. The sales price was not disclosed. The facility will serve as the new corporate headquarters for Goldfish Swim School Franchising LLC, a swim school expanding across the United States. Solid Concepts previously used the building as a manufacturing facility. Peter E. Kepic, Peter J. Kepic, Robert Badgero and Steven Badgero of Colliers International Detroit represented the buyer, Goldfish Swim School Franchising.

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF. — A private investor has acquired the 80-unit Hillside Apartments in San Bernardino for $10.2 million. The community is located at 2156-2196 Kendall Drive. It is situated just one mile from Cal State San Bernardino. Warren Berzack of Berzack Investment Property Advisors and Slavic Zlatkin of Lee & Associates represented the buyer. Lee’s Ryan O’Connor represented the seller, SB Hillside Properties, in this transaction.
