WINDER AND LOGANVILLE, GA. — Charlotte, N.C.-based Faison Enterprises has opened the 550,000-square-foot first phase of the Barrow Crossing shopping center in Winder and the 350,000-square-foot North Logan Commons in Loganville. Barrow Crossing, which is spread across 60 acres on Highway 316, is 86 percent leased. Tenants in the power center include Target, Belk, Publix, PetSmart, Staples, McDonald’s, Great Clips, Lee Nails and Stevi B’s Pizza. Located on U.S. Highway 78, North Logan Commons is anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse. Additional tenants in the 37-acre development include Best Buy, Dick’s Clothing and Sporting Goods, OfficeMax, PetSmart, Dollar Tree and Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The center is 87 percent occupied.

COCONUT CREEK, FLA. — Orlando, Fla.-based Keene Construction Co. has completed the 99,208-square-foot Caligo Crossing shopping center for the developer Regency Centers. The property, which is located on State Road 7 in Coconut Creek, is anchored by an 88,408-square-foot Kohl’s. Additional tenants include a 4,200-square-foot Mattress Firm, a 2,362-square-foot Tijuana Flats Burrito and a 1,400-square-foot Stormann’s Coffee. Tulsa, Okla.-based Scott & Goble Architects designed the Kohl’s, and Clearwater, Fla.-based Fisher & Associates designed the additional retail space.
OWINGS MILLS, MD. — Columbia, Md.-based James M. Jost & Co. has broken ground on the 90,000-square-foot McDonogh Village and Professional Center, a four-story, Class A office complex with ground-floor retail space. The property spans 8 acres at 8890 McDonogh Rd. in Owings Mills. The space is divided into office suites, which feature 9-foot ceiling heights, high-speed Internet and public utilities. The building is being marketed to professional, medical and service-related companies.
CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — Silver Spring, Md.-based Choice Hotels International has opened a 93-unit MainStay Suites hotel in Clarksville. The property is located at 115 Fairbrook Place. The development, which was built using the MainStay Suites prototype design, is the company’s 100th extended-stay hotel.
SUNRISE, FLA. — Orlando, Fla.-based Tilt-Con Corp. has broken ground on Coconut Creek, Fla.-based Butters Construction & Development’s 65,232-square-foot Chauvet Lighting warehouse. The property is located at 5200 N.W. 105th Ave. in Sunrise. Delivery of the property, which was designed by Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Greco Design & Construction, is scheduled for July.
CARY, N.C. — Ocala, Fla.-based Edwards Construction Services has nearly finished work on the 61,956-square-foot Sunrise Senior Living facility in Cary. Features of the property include a full-service kitchen, laundry and hair-care areas, an entertainment center, a library and a crafts area. The $11 million project was originally slated to deliver in December.
TAMPA, FLA. — University Community Health has opened a 48,000-square-foot long-term acute care facility in the Connerton Commerce Park. The one-story property is located on U.S. Highway 41 in Tampa. Features include 50 private rooms, an operating room, a chapel, a gift shop and a dining area. Nashville-based Gobbell Hays Partners designed the project. When completed, Connerton Commerce Park will encompass 190,000 square feet of office, industrial and medical space on 38 acres.
FLORIDA — Dollar Tree Stores has signed leases for four new stores in Florida. The stores range in size from 11,473 square feet to 15,590 square feet. The properties are located in Magnolia Shoppes in Broward County; Shoppes at Boynton Beach in Boynton Beach; Commons at Royal Palm in Palm Beach County; and Homestead Pavilion in Dade County, Fla. BONITA SPRINGS, FLA. — Bonita Springs-based Gora/McGahey Architects has completed the design of Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District’s 8,688-square-foot Fire Station No. 5. The project will be located on West Terry Street in Bonita Springs. The property will feature a front-porch façade meant to incorporate the building into the neighborhood, three apparatus bays, a kitchen and dining room, an exercise area and a safe room. Fire Station No. 5 will be constructed to withstand 130 mph winds.
TALLAHASSEE, FLA. — Orlando, Fla.-based Construct Two Group has completed the 132,116-square-foot Development Research School for Florida A&M University. The six-building property is located on the university’s campus in Tallahassee. The development encompasses an administration building, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, a TV production studio and classroom space for elementary, middle and high school students. Energy-efficient lighting and life-safety technology are included in the new property.
